Centre for Excellence in
Organizational Governance
Clarity. Diligence. Impact.
The Centre for Excellence in Organizational Governance (CEOG) is Discitus’ centre of expertise in governance. It supports the development of competent, accountable, and strategically effective boards of directors, aligned with Discitus’ positioning focused on organizational health, performance, and clarity.
A subsidiary of Discitus Inc., CEOG is the only organization in Canada to offer a professional designation for non-profit board directors, in both English and French.
Our approach is institutional, rigorous, and firmly grounded in practice. We support boards in moving beyond minimum compliance to become true levers for performance, organizational health, and the creation of sustainable strategic value.

Developing Governance That Makes a Difference
Good governance is not measured solely by policies or meeting minutes. It is measured by the quality of decisions, the clarity of roles, the trust between governing bodies, and the organization’s ability to fulfill its mission and vision.
CEOG exists to support this ambition.
A Professional Designation Recognized and Supported by the University of Sudbury’s Governance Academy
CEOG’s professional designation is designed for board directors of institutions and non-profit organizations who wish to carry out their role with competence, diligence, and credibility.
Offered in both English and French, the CEOG designation establishes a clear professional standard for institutional and non-profit governance in Canada.
The designation enables participants to:
-
clarify the true role of a board of directors and of each of its members;
-
master governance, compliance, and oversight obligations;
-
develop strong strategic capacity grounded in the needs of beneficiaries;
-
strengthen the quality of decision-making and the board’s confidence in the executive director.
It is supported by a microprogram developed and delivered in collaboration with the University of Sudbury’s Academy of Leadership and Governance, ensuring a solid academic foundation that is recognized and aligned with leading practices in organizational governance.
An Approach Anchored in the Discitus Signature
At CEOG, governance is approached as a structured, coherent, and measurable system of work. Our approach is grounded in:
-
clear and unambiguous strategic clarity (mission, vision, values);
-
clearly defined roles and responsibilities between the board and executive management;
-
practical tools that are directly applicable in real-world contexts;
-
a vision of governance as a true partner to management.
Every training, program, and tool serves a specific purpose: enabling boards of directors to maintain reasonable and demonstrable assurance that the organization is well governed, well managed, and well protected.
